We really need to do better.
“There have been 170,852 total hospital admissions among thirty somethings from the beginning of August to August 11. From the week of July 29-August 4 to the week of August 5-August 11, the seven-day average of admissions jumped from 908 to 1113. “Vaccination rates are probably playing a role as well. According to CDC data, as of August 15, less than half (49.9%) of those 20 to 39 years of age have been fully vaccinated. Compare that 59.1% of 40 somethings, 68.4% of those in the 50-to-64 year age range, 82.6% in the 65-to-74 age range, and 78.3% in the 75-plus age range. That’s going to leave quite a few thirty somethings as risk for not only catching the virus but having worse Covid-19 outcomes.”
