I was nervous about performing in the town square. A trained, dancing capybara wasn’t what the locals were used to. I’d been in front of audiences before, but it was Chappy’s debut. I hoped they liked the animal, and that he liked performing.
It went well. The town folk laughed at the big, clumsy rodent, and generously threw ripe fruit and vegetables at us. Chappy and I both ate well that night.
