Hmm… which reminds me that it’s probably about time to empty the old litter from the cat box, because sometimes just scooping isn’t enough. The cat boxes are not so much of a chore now that Bubbles decided to become a porch cat. He's not good at it, and doesn't even run around with the other porch cats. You can just tell that he's miserable, but what can you do? I try to coax him in but he's not having it. Been that way ever since Max died. (sigh) He and Max were besties. Cuddle buddies, you know? At least the other cats have returned to normal. Well, sort of. They all were traumatized by Max’s passing.
So what’s on queue for today?
I see it’s National Tail Mix Day. Not a big fan, but a good one would be Peanut M&Ms, Reese’s Pieces, Brookside Dark Chocolate (Pomegranate, of course,) and some almonds or filberts. When you wake up from that sugar coma, there won’t be a mountain you couldn’t climb without even trying.
Let’s see, what else:
Eat Outside Day? I can do that. Order up a sammy and sit on the old park bench under the big tree in the back yard after finishing my morning bike ride.
International Overdose Awareness Day? That’s a possible tie-in to that trail mix recipe.
National Zoo Awareness Day? Well, it has been awhile since I visited the local zoo, but I’ll be damned if I do it on a weekend.
National Cabernet Day? Uh sorry, but no thanks, unless we want to really talk about Overdose Awareness, seeing that as a person in recovery my story is one of being unable to stay clean because I couldn’t stay sober. I’m not blowing 34 years C&S over a glass of Sauvignon.
Gotta get some yard work done, and the week’s laundry. Maybe I’ll finish that book that’s due next Thursday. I’ve got all weekend.
