The Southern Magnolia is native to Louisiana with unusually fragrant flowers. The magnificent magnolia blossoms are both a treat for the eyes and the senses. Throughout New Orleans, beginning in late April and peaking in May, the scent of magnolias fills the air. Flowers appear as late as September and October.
