In theory, I am currently employed by an organization with a strong technical background, a technical university. Sadly, it doesn't very often feel like that. (technical, I mean) Now for example I wanted to log into our administrative system to approve the absence of a few students. Here is the login window:

I had already entered username and password. In addition I need to check the checkbox you see in the background. The text "I'm not a robot" next to it is covered by the beautiful captcha that popped up in response to me checking that box.

I have tried during previous school meetings to explain that a captcha at a login with existing credentials is not actually meaningful, not increasing security, only time wasted for meaningless activities. Luckily I got in after checking the three chimneys. A while ago, when they introduced this system, I made a video once where I tried without success to log in for several minutes, because after I completed a captcha I got a second page with more images and after completing that I got a new captcha and so on and nobody worried about that at all.

As I said, it doesn't always feel very technical around here...
