Telegram will now send your IP addresses to authorities.
Their updated Privacy Policy now states:
If Telegram receives a court order that confirms you're a terror suspect, we may disclose your IP address and phone number to the relevant authorities.

In 2017, Telegram-s CEO wrote:
not a single byte of private data will ever be shared with any government

This is problematic in authoritarian countries where government is known to fabricate such court orders.
It is also notable that Telegram-s statements were again proved to be wrong. The company has already a reputation of claiming false statements as advertisements, like "we're the most secure" while keeping most of communications plaintext, etc.
