Roger the Australian red kangaroo was known for his muscular physique and intimidating posture. He became an internet sensation in 2015 when he was photographed crushing a metal bucket with his paws.
Roger lived at The Kangaroo Sanctuary in Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia, where he was rescued as a joey by Chris ‘Brolga’ Barns. Roger’s death was announced on December 8, 2018.
Roger was so muscular because he was a male Australian red kangaroo, and they have a natural instinct to kick-box with other males to compete for females and become the alpha male.
Roger’s biceps and triceps were akin to a human bodybuilder’s, and he built his strength by engaging in kickboxing-like fights, his environment and of course, genetics. Roger was also one of the largest kangaroos ever recorded, weighing 91 kilograms (200 pounds), which added to his impressive physique.
Roger’s muscles were not a result of any artificial enhancement or genetic modification, but a natural feature of his species and his lifestyle. 🦘
