Why howdy there #Checkin People! It’s Rod again. Today’s my last day as mod, and for the life of me I can’t remember who’s next. And since my brain seems to be misfiring, in lieu of a topic, I’ll just cut and paste today’s observances:
2024 Daily Holidays that fall on May 29, include:
• Composting Day (Okay, I'll turn over the pile with a pitchfork)
• End of the Middle Ages Day (Wait, what?!)
• International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers (Don't even get me started)
• Learn About Composting Day (well that's rather redundant)
• National Biscuit Day (American or British? I prefer the latter, but like the former with cheese or peanut butter)
• National Coq Au Vin Day (AFAIC Julia Child's recipe stands the test of time)
• National Senior Health & Fitness Day (I guess I'll walk to the library or ride my mountain bike somewhere)
• Paper Clip Day ("It was invented in 1899. It hasn’t been improved upon since.")
• Pink Flamingo Day
• Put a Pillow on Your Fridge Day (Hm.. Now that's a curious superstition, but not the weirdest by a long shot)
• World Digestive Health Day (After all the Coq Au Vin?!)
• World Otter Day (Here are some cute otter pics)
Kids are coming into town tomorrow, and I’m getting the house ready for their arrival. I can hardly wait to see their smiling faces!! (goes over checklist again to make sure everything is in order.)
