Well bad news: @Kathryn Barr tested positive for #COVID on Tuesday and I tested positive today. I am very sick right now, cannot stand up.
Kathryn went to a wedding last Saturday that turned out to be a superspreader event. I opted not to go ass I calculated zero percent chance of not getting infected, given the very high numbers
I thought we had done it all right: we had Kathryn mask right from her car on her return, isolate in the spare room, 100% masking, shots up to date, delivered meals to outside the door, sealing bedroom doors and apparently none of that was even close to enough. I got some Paxlovid from the pharmacy and the pharmacist says literally everyone here in our neighbourhood has COVID right now.
So here is the current best guess: meeting up indoors is deadly, meeting up outdoors is not much better unless you are very far apart (like more than 50 feet). Stay away from anyone who has been to any sort of indoor venue for at least a week afterwards.
Don't take any risks. I wouldn't wish this on anyone, it is really bad.
