TIL: Dina Sanichar was a feral boy. A group of hunters discovered him among wolves in a cave in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, #India in February 1867, at the age of around six.
The hunters decided to take the child away, smoking the pack out of the cave and killing the mother wolf in the process.
He was sent to the Secundra orphanage at Agra where he lived among other humans for over twenty years and was given the name, Dina Sanichar.
The boy continued to walk on all fours while eating only raw meat. He only communicated in wolf-like grunts and howls, and never learned a human language.
