If you're going to contend that there's a difference in demographics, then it's a reasonable request to know what it is you plan to do with such information if it's true. If you're argument is mainly about what will happen in the future because of certain changes in the law, then it's reasonable to expect you to say if that change is bad in and of itself or if you're only concerned with a possible slippery slope. In both cases, if we don't know your wider opinions around such issues, then it's very difficult to have any sort of productive debate.
