The world's biggest digital camera is 3.2 gigapixels. It weighs nearly three tons. And it was created for astronomy. It was installed in the Vera C. Rubin Observatory on the top of a mountain called Cerro Pachón in the Coquimbo region in northern Chile, on the edge of the Atacama desert.
