Hey, today is International Cake Day! I just learned about its history (you too can easily look it up). The day started being celebrated on July 20, 2011 for lofty reasons. Intuitively it makes sense to use the cake as a universal symbol. Can you think of any culture that doesn't have a version of cake - a sweet treat that is present at special or celebratory events? What a range from simple yummies we make at home to the most mind boggling creations imaginable. When you think of cake what stories or customs come to mind? What cake is unique to where you come from? What do you associate with cake/specific cakes? ... (it's a huge topic!)
