I received a CD from a long-time friend as an early birthday gift. It’s not the sort of music I normally buy for myself, by an artist that’s tolerable, but not one I was interested in following. After a first listen I’ve found that it’s very different from the songs from the artist that I’ve heard on the radio, and I really like it.
Now, I like a lot of different genres of music from around the globe. I have over eighty days of digitized music I’ve accumulated over the years that I play on random selection in iTunes. While I have some current favorites, Afro pop bands such as Newen Afrobeat, Funk/Jazz/Rock fusion bands like Snarky Puppy, I often rely on a few artists that I like for very specific reasons, like Djivan Gasparyan, Grant Greene, and Peter Bolland.
What sort of music do you like? Do you have a favorite band, artist, or performer that you prefer, and if so, why do you like them? No judgement, and none allowed. A lot of music I love many people can’t stand, so be gentle with one another other, and keep it light.
