Had the pleasure and honor to co-host the 8th meeting of the Bright Garden Voices on the impact of the Second Karabakh War on mental health.
I would like to draw your attention to 3 points expressed by the speakers, that I find especially important and worth thinking about:
- The importance of excluding hatred to any nationality in educational institutions (particularly schools let alone kindergartens),
- The impact of not only the Armenian genocide, 1st and 2nd Karabakh wars, but also the 1988 earthquake on the collective and/or individual mental health of Armenians,
- The importance of the peace agreement/conflict transformation/resolution between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and its impact on the mental health of Armenians and Azerbaijanis. Bright Garden Voices is an independent initiative that provides a platform for constructive and respectful dialogue between Armenians and Azerbaijanis. The idea is to have guests (and hosts) from both Armenia and Azerbaijan for online meetings, who would share their experiences and knowledge on chosen topics related to conflict/war between Armenia and Azerbaijan. BGV is not affiliated nor founded by literally anyone, but the individuals who voluntarily contribute to the initiative. It does not represent any government, organization, state, or group.
