What's Missing in #Politics?

..." #Elections are a way to decide whom to hire. Unfortunately, there's no interview process. #Candidates have to raise lots of money and spend hundreds or thousands of hours pursuing the job. We can do better.

Without management by voters, democracy doesn't work reliably as we've seen happen many times over America's history. Worse, it drifts into division, dysfunction, lying, and corruption, as we see today.
Why does money have so much power in elections? Because campaigns need to communicate with people. Without a system that works for voters, voters are hard to reach and short messages are best. These make this communication inefficient which means expensive. It's this high cost that gives money power.

PeopleCount has designed an efficient communication system to allow politicians to have 2-way communication with voters, and voters to have communication with each other so we can effectively manage politicians. The proposed platform is attractive to both voters and politicians. It naturally pulls for politicians to be fully accountable to voters and enables voters to efficiently manage them.

Being in touch with all voters will enable politicians to be much more independent from the parties. Let's look at this another way. Instead of voters collecting in 2 parties that take up divisive positions on issues, voters will be able to align themselves on each issue.
There are dozens of issues where large majorities of Americans agree (one organization has a list of over a hundred issues.) A number of these are political reform issues. Many candidates favor these, but neither party makes them a priority"... https://blog.peoplecount.org/
