Lilly (11.03.2009 - 04.07.2022)
Lilly was my goddog for three years when she lived in the shelter for five years. Already at the age of one year she was beaten and abused, confiscated by the official veterinarian and transferred to the shelter. Lilly was not an easy dog. For a while she had the official requirement to wear a muzzle and walks had to be done with two people. Actually, German shepherds are not my cup of tea, but when my then Rottweiler goddog Bella died, Lilly somehow managed to sneak into my heart. Soon she was my "little witch". Often she accompanied me for many hours on my garden property - the only place where she could run free without a leash. Then in 2017, she was adopted. Another volunteer at the shelter took her in and Lilly finally got the life she deserved. I never lost contact with her and from time to time I met Lilly and her owner. Just three months ago we celebrated Lilly's 13th birthday together and already a few weeks later we met again for coffee, cake and a pig ear. The end was foreseeable, but we must not complain. Lilly had a long, full dog life and many of her companions are mourning her now. I'm quite moved and honored that Lilly will find her final resting place at my property, next to Nicky's grave.
Goodbye Lilly! Goodbye my little witch!
