It's kind of my home, a historic structure located in Glendaruel, on the cowal peninsula, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. The property is owned by James Daniel Revell. A property in #Dounens was shown on maps in 1590; #Dunans House was developed in its current form of simulated #château in 1864. Once part of a much larger estate, the property now comprises 16 acres of land and in 2001 was destroyed by fire.
For more than two centuries, Dunans hosted the clan #Fletcher who moved to the site between 1715 and 1745, taking with them the gate of their former home at Achallader Castle. The original manor-style house was extended into its current dramatic form of Franco-baronial "castle" by architect Andrew Kerr with the additions consisting of four main apartments and 6 bedrooms. The building passed from Fletcher's hands in 1997 when the entire 3,000-acre Dunans estate was sold by the heirs of Colonel Archibald Fletcher and later separated. Now under a new owner, the site, including a network of Victorian trails, has undergone restoration supported by the #Dunans Charitable Trust. The castle is said to have three #fantômes residents
