Just being there can be enough for a good deed (pt. 2)
Today on the way home from a long walk he Malte the dog took a break on the broad sidewalk. This is a street typically busy with pedestrians. #StoryTime
While he relaxed, a couple of lovebirds walked up to us, both adorned with many a sign of a date going very well, including a large bouqet of flowers in her arm. The woman asked me "Can I...?" and I replied "He will be ok with that I'm sure". And this doggo happily received some cuddles and shared his love, making hearts melt. She commented on "oh you, you really made my day, thank you". (Me and dog we have had this reaction before.)
Which her partner took lightheartedly offended, turning to me chuckling "You know, with women, you just can't do everything right, even flowers are not enough, who can ever understand women", gesticulating and inviting me to join in the cheer. I may or may not have mumbled something to affirmative effect with my laughter, as it was clear they were in a mood most excellent and not at all in need of a comment.
We wished one another a good day afterwards, and I felt compelled to write about the encounter. They made our day better too. Some days it is very easy to do a good deed, just being there can be enough.
