Good time to bring up the sweetest little rosebud that Texas ever knew-- The Yellow Rose of Texas, and in the same swoop for us oldsters, bring it up with Mitch Miller....and get a very broad hint about where Texas actually stood during the Civil War (ewww). There's a line in the song that's worth bringing up as a cross-reference: "You can talk about your Clementine and sing of Rosalee..."
Y'all know who Clementine is, but Rosalee needs some explaining--it's a reference to a song sung by Nelson Eddy, to Jeannette MacDonald, in a movie.
