Israeli drum prodigy Roni Kaspi started playing at the age of seven and by 21 was touring with Avishai Cohen, one of the greats of Israeli jazz. A graduate of Berklee, which she attended on a full scholarship, she has a powerful, fluid style influenced equally by jazz, rock, pop, and electronica.
Kaspi was born in 2000 in Tel Aviv. Growing up in a music-loving household, she was exposed from an early age to all kinds of music. She fell in love with the drums after discovering a kit in the music room at school; later, she also learned piano and bass. She attended the famous Thelma Yellin High School for the Arts, where she studied in the jazz department. There she gained much experience playing in various student jazz combos. Inspired by jazz greats like Marcus Gilmore and Tony Williams, as well as rock, pop, hip-hop, funk, and R&B, she developed a powerful, fluid playing style.
