Rockers go Country and don't look back: Kenny Rogers, Charlie Daniels, and....wait, what the hell was Spike Jones & The City Slickers?? Not rock, not classical, not croon, not jazz?

One of the City Slickers went off to do Country, and that's Red Ingles who debuted with an incognito Jo Stafford with a distinctive rendition of "Temptation"....named "Timtayshun".

that there is no such thing as Country Music outside of industry definition, which was relatively recent. In the beginning, there were two separate genres called Hillbilly and Cowboy and the industry decided to merge the two and call it Country, whereupon the Hillillies said "oh no you don't!!"...thereby spinning off into bluegrass, rendering Country right back to Cowboy until the Cajuns butted in with Cowboy Zydeco.
