Former Atlanta police officer charged in Rayshard Brooks shooting

People crying crocodile tears for the cop in this shooting. They think small. The politicians brought pressure to enforce the letter of the law in this case. Cops are outraged because the law is rarely enforced against them. Today there are reports from Atlanta, that cops are not showing up for work or are going on patrol but refusing to respond to calls. That's right. Upset a cop -- enjoy your rape, head trauma, or sucking chest wound -- see if we care.

What's ridiculous is that there is very little if any chance of a conviction in this case. Realistically, they are more than likely just going through the motions to relieve tensions. However, police unions have been so successful in protecting the interests of police officers that even the suggestion of one of their own being held accountable in a circumstance that is not the least bit uncommon among their ranks, is unsettling to them. Again, they are outraged! As in, "How DARE YOU SIR, to question us for shooting a man in the back??? HOW -- DARE -- YOU??? NONSENSE!"

Just to clarify where I stand, I say fire anyone who doesn't respond to a call. If they protest that too, fire the lot of them. I think this is the first time I've ever been anti-union. Then again, this union defends killers so I don't think it counts.

Relax! He'll get off. I'm 98% sure this is pure theater.
