Twinkle Star Sprites is an unusual hybrid of shooter and VS puzzle. Various VS puzzle games like Puyo Puyo and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo were based on the idea that when you clear out stuff and make combos, stuff would be thrown into the opponent's screen.
Well, Twinkle Star Sprites takes that idea, but replaces puzzle action with vertical shooter action. The result ... works?
Anyway, I'm sticking this here as possible inspiration for other hybrid takes on the VS puzzle game. Like maybe a variant of Arkanoid, or maybe a platforming collect 'em up like Wiz n Liz ...
