In The Pink.

Corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, parsnips, soda bread, and Guinness were consumed. We forwent watching The Quiet Man in order to watch Intermission. My daughter described it as an Irish Love Actually. Not too far off the mark, I’d say.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

A holiday more celebrated in the U.S. than Ireland, I suspect.

1 in 4 US adults have Irish ancestors or relatives. That's 25.75% of the adult population of the USA, equating to over 52 million people.

Much has been written about emigration from Ireland. Little has been written about immigration to Ireland, even tho it's had a significant impact on the island over the centuries. It's possible that some of my ancestors were Jewish refugees from Spain and Portugal who settled in southern Ireland in the 16th century. Looking forward to learning more.
