Web 3.0?

If the Web browser is becoming a sandboxed VM with defined capabilities in which we deploy and run arbitrary remote code, at what point does the balance flip to running an actual VM / emulator on the user's own system, with a dispatched installation of arbitrary software? Arbitrary code can run without restriction to language within the VM.

Pre-provisioned VMs might offer a defined (and limited) set of capabilities into which a configuration might be dropped and run, limiting further vulnerabilities at least somewhat.

And we can actually build web browsers to manage documents and information access again, rather than run adtech surveillance bullshit.

But something like qemu, virtualbox, flatpak, kubernetes, etc., deployed straight to the user (or their designated proxy system).
