Amazon. DHL. One of the two.
Amazon tells me this one item will arrive on Friday. Tracking is of course still at "Ordered today".
This was earlier today.
Then, to my great astonishment, it jumped to "Your package may be lost. Sorry it's late.".
Huh? How can it be late if it's supposed to arrive on Friday?
Checked the tracking ID with DHL. Huh? It was delivered to a Packstation in… Berlin? Oh, and it was not just delivered, it was also already picked up by the customer. Me? Last time I was in Berlin was in 2014. And I don't deliver to Packstations anyway.
Ah, date check: October 19th, not November.
Google… ah, DHL reuses tracking ids. Why? It's 18 digits! That's enough to deliver 1.3 billion sequentially numbered packages a year (the number I could find) for millions of years!
And even if you wand or "need" to reuse ids, DON'T DO IT AFTER A MERE MONTH!
Very weird.
