I'm almost certain many conversations like this actually happened around the country lol. From Benjamin Schwartz in The New YorkerTwo . #NewYorkerCartoons #humor #DevHumor
I only just now saw and read XKCD’s disclaimer on best browser, platforms, and resolution etc. I should have expected no less :) #humor #GeekHumor #DevHumor
My reluctance to contribute to a project for the first time was rooted in imposter syndrome fear people would say my code sucks. So too was my reluctance to publish a greenfield FOSS Project. Then you realize FOSS projects aren't the church of pristine code anymore than anywhere else. Rip the band-aid off! :) #programming #geekhumor #devhumor #humor
People who don't do software development or software support probably won't get this but... #devhumor #geekhumor
I missed this "tech horror stories" thing on Halloween but sharing it here anyway. There are some doozies! I'll add one. A long time ago I was at a new customer's site doing a system walk through. I asked the head tech person to log in so I could see some of the admin functions and data.
Them: "Oh I'll just give you my password so you can do it."
Me: "I'm not comfortable with having people's passwords in general but especially since your account has god privileges on this system"
Them: "It's okay, it's very easy: 1234567890"
Did I mention this was a production system attached to the internet?
