Yeah but... http://speedace.info/solar_van.htm peter perkins showed us the way with his solar powered van over a decade ago. And he did this with a strip of solar (and a tiny turbine). The entire surface of the van could be coated in photovoltaic paint. Windows could even have photovoltaic dye. These technologies have existed since the early 00s. Long journeys viable. 10grand components back then.
