A quotation from Cleese, John

I’m struck by how laughter connects you with people. It’s almost impossible to maintain any kind of distance or any sense of social hierarchy when you’re just howling with laughter. Laughter is a force for democracy.

John Cleese (b. 1939) English comedian, actor, screenwriter, producer
The Human Face, 01×02 “Here’s Looking at You!” BBC TV (2001-03-14)

My whole lifestyle changed a while ago. As a nightowl I always had preferred to live in the night, as writing is much easier and pleasant when there is no, or nearly no sound around but, since about one year I go to bed around 9-10p and then get up between 4:30 and 5:30 am, and it feels good... so, this morning I wrote in my diary:

You were a laughing, smiling, happy child up to the time you went to school.

This shows that all the problems, fears, disturbances start with education and manipulation.

Now, in my 73rd year I am heading back to that state of soul I was in my early youth! Yay!

A quotation by Truth, Sojourner

Life is a hard battle anyway. If we laugh and sing a little as we fight the good fight of freedom, it makes it all go easier.

Sojourner Truth (1797-1883) American abolitionist, women’s rights activist [b. Isabella Baumfree]

Quoted in Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Letter to the Editor, New York World (13 May 1867)
