Jason Lee: Actor of the past, artist in the present

Once an actor best known for his staring role in the sitcom "My Name is Earl" Jason Lee now wanders the hot, dry and quiet backroads of rural Texas in a 30 year old Lincoln Town Car, basically a stretched Ford Crown Victoria with a nice interior and slightly softer ride, with his Leica M6 sporting an Elmarit-M 28mm f/2.8 lens. Respect for using a 28mm lens, a lens I have yet can't use well. Sometimes he'll also uses a large format camera.

"Old men planting trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in"

Outside of the photography community Jason Lee is known only as an actor. Inside the photography community he's well respected as a creative and skilled photographer with a subtle passion for the craft. While his photography books might sell a few hundred copies each, which is a best seller for photography books, he gets no fame and certainly no fortune from his photography work. He does it because he wants future generations to see the rural Texas he sees today. In the decades to come, no doubt, many will view his work as a most beautiful time capsule of the beginning of the 21st Century and the rapidly disappearing traditional, small, rural Texas town.

Respect to "old men that plant trees."
