hehe, this tidbit from the #startrek #deepspacenine pilot, seems to me to hint reminicent of what i've heard about the supressed flying saucers we humans have made. similar to the electrified leading wing edge of the advanced military craft.

Jadzia Dax: Could you modify the subspace field output of the deflector generators? ~ Just enough to create a low-level field around the station.
Miles O'Brian: So we could lower the inertial mass. ...?
Jadzia Dax: If you could make the station lighter, those 6 thrusters would be all the power we need.

Inertial frame of reference
In classical physics and special relativity, an inertial frame of reference is a frame of reference that is not undergoing acceleration. In an inertial frame of reference, a physical object with zero net force acting on it moves with a constant velocity—or, equivalently, it is a frame of reference in which Newton's first law of motion holds.

we could be flying around with effectively infinite acceleration, and not feel it inside, and it take effectively no energy to do it. directly add in sensitivity to fields of other things, and you can stop/change-trajectory instantly too, ever avoiding collisions. the technology already exists. has done for many decades. ... but availing everybody the best, is not fitting well with this insane enslavement plan thats keeping us dependent on poluting technologies of limitation, for rents, to maintain the power-imbalance. we could have #spaceshipsforeverybody

i bet someone knew, when writing the script for that star trek: deep space nine episode.

... lower the inertial mass

and take whatever spiritual/metaphorical/metaphysical insight you do from that
