My legs are brighter than the noontime sun on the 4th of July and my cargo shorts are the single least flattering sort of pants one might wear. I will not let this stop me today.
And lo these many close-toed sandals later, I have completed the dreaded and wholly unholy trifecta of MN dad gear in springtime.

I had never heard of repair café before, but I wish we had one here in #Minnesota. They look pretty cool.
I guess I didn’t realize how good we have it in #Minnesota. Bike lanes tend to be plentiful, wide, and safe.
The avalanche of progressive legislation that the state’s two-vote Democratic majority in the Minnesota House and one-vote advantage in the state Senate have enacted this year is a wonder to behold.
Where New York #Democrats generally win easily, and so the Democratic establishment focuses above all on maintaining its control of the party machine and associated patronage, #Minnesota Democrats have to actually represent their constituents. It turns out when a political party has a coherent agenda that it actually tries to carry out, it can get a lot done.

It took forty-five minutes to clear the driveway this morning, typically a twenty minute job with the snowblower. Soon they’ll plow the road and I can put in another fifteen minutes moving that. #mnweather #minnesota #whydoilivehere
Minnesota’s largest electric utility has temporarily shut down the Monticello nuclear power plant after reporting radioactive tritium was released into the surrounding groundwater near the Mississippi River. It’s the second such spill reported by Xcel Energy since November. Minnesota’s Pollution Control Agency reports the plant’s shutdown caused a massive die-off of fish due to a change in water temperature in the #Mississippi.

This hit close to home – literally. Spatial disorientation results in an overspeed, and the pilot’s attempt to recover actually folded the wings and tail of the airplane up like the covers of a book.
That’s a pretty good start, actually.

Looks like we had about 60% voter turnout here in #Minnesota. Glad to see blue victories for Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, my own (new to me) congressional district, and a Minnesota Senate majority. The elections remain safe and secure (hooray for paper ballots!), with the folks observing the proceedings (Republicans and Democrats) observing no shenanigans. Hopefully those conspiracy theories are quashed.
