Trying a simple abd lazy compost solution..

Had a 1m pipe I was planning to use for hydroponics that I gave up and decided to try a lazy man's compost solution.

Made a lot of holes in the first 20cm of it and pushed it into a pot I used to have a tomato plant in. Placed some mints around it and put a small pot on top to work as the cover.

Whenever I have some #vegetables left over, I put them in the pipe and I'm expecting to have good compost in it by the summer as the worms in the pot can go in an out of the holes, eating the vegetable and turn it to fertilizer.

At the same time, I am going to have unlimited minteto have for tea or salad.
I may cover and paint the pipe, or emayeb cover ot with some wood I saved from orange boxes.

Remove the #mint from the #strawberry #planter because it was choking them and was amazed how long and deep the roots were in there. I think I removed all the roots, now going to plant it in a pot isolated from everything else with a plastic bottom to prevent it from spreading.

The new blog post details how on Mint 22 the MintInstall software manager will hide unverified Flathub flatpaks by default, requiring you to manually enable them after viewing a discouraging disclaimer:

Is this really a good idea? There's a lot of popular unverified flatpaks on Flathub that will likely never be verified because developers aren't interested. Examples are Google Chrome, VLC, Dolphin Emulator, Spotify, Xemu, Visual Studio Code, Zoom, Chromium, WhatsApp, Signal, Blender, Inkscape, etc. Most of these aren't on Ubuntu's repository, this will make it more difficult for inexperienced users to get software.

Do you agree? The only one of these I've ever used is VLC, and I didn't have to install it with a flatpak.

This is what happens when you grow #mint ina hydroponic system.

Just like in soil, mint have a strong way of spreading and taking over what ever place is available.

This used to hold a #parsley seedling, next to the mint unit on the 3x5 hole #IKEA #Växer unit.

The parsley was killed long time ago and it's roots were chocked and taken over by the neighboring mint.

I'm cleaning up the unit indoor and getting rid of all the unhealthy units. This , I pulled to find over 40cm of roots growing towards the rest of the system.

I removed this unit and trimmed all the unnecessary roots. And I probably have to do major cleanup of the reservoir.

But for now, this guy needs a new home.

Another major batch of #parsley from one of #IKEA #Växer units.

This time is about 700g and going to freeze them while waiting for the next batch to grow (I have one more with parsley, one with #leek, #coriander, #mint, and #dill that are not producing as much. Each unit has 15 grow holes. One is almost empty. I am missing #taragon and I'm missing Iranian Shanbalileh (شَنبَلیله یا به فارسی دری شینبل (نام علمی: Trigonella foenum-graecum) ) to have all vegetables I need except to spinach that is not worth growing in small space that I have to be self sufficient in having all necessary vegetables for cooking different Iranian dishes.

This single Ikea unit has givene 5 batch of parsley since I started it and ther are no sign of decline as ww are getting closer to summer.

It has already paid off the initial cost I paid for it and from now on, it's all profit. Next it trying to setup the Mimi tower unit to grow them with solar powered water pumps and sunshine (no artificial LEDs for this trial.

Just need to buy some fertilizer because running low.

Freiheit und Solitarität
Ich habe in den letzten Monaten sehr viele Laptops mit Linux bestückt. Die Menschen sind es, glaube ich, leid. Vor allem die "Casual" Nutzer, die ihren Rechner nur neben ihrem Handy haben und einfach mal surfen, spielen oder schreiben wollen. Den ist ja (meist) traditionell egal, dass sie ausspioniert werden, aber Windows und die ganze Bloatware sind inzwischen so extrem aufdringlich, quasi unhöflich, dass sich da niemand mehr zu Hause fühlt.

Ich habe da absolut Linux Mint schätzen gelernt! Ich benutze es inzwischen sogar selbst. Es ist so gut durchdacht und simple. Ideal für Menschen, die keinen Bock auf Computer haben. Es hält sich im Hintergrund und ist super intuitiv. Ich habe das bei Leuten installiert, die das Drücken des Einschaltknopfes als Zumutung empfinden und hatte Angst, dass die mich alle 2 Tage anrufen. Es war dann so, da sich angerufen habe, ob alles in Ordnung ist. Es war alles in Ordnung!

Hier unten installiere ich es gerade bei einer Hauptschülerin, die ein Freund von mir betreut. Der Rechner ist alt, die Familie sehr arm. Aber die Scheiße läuft. Das Hauptproblem war, welches Manga Bild als Wallpaper infrage kommt.

I believe that was the main reason most people who bought the units failed to enjoy it and had to resell it at low cost or simply keep it in storage unit they throw them away.

Good for me since I bought all but one unit from the French web site LebonCoin at a fraction of the price of what they were sold by IKEA.

On this unit, I have 4 #tomato plants, 1 @parsley, one giant #mint and 2 radishes. It's consuming about 1L per day as tomatoes starting to grow, and maybe have to give more water and nutrients to help producing more in the coming weeks.

These little guys are helping me more than my medication to calm down and relax from the daily stress and troubles.

Nun möchte ich die Befele "STRG-C" + STRG-V" wieder belegen. Allerdings klappt das nicht da ich den Befehl dafür nicht habe.
Meine Frage nun : was ist der Consolen-Befehl für die beiden obigen Tastenkombinationen ???

(und nein, die Tastenkombination eintragen klappt nicht ) :-)
