It is a beautiful volcanic mountain located north of Tehran.
When I was a teenager, I climbed it with a group of friends and it's one of the most amazing memories I have from Iran.
With the height of 5671m it used to be covered with snow all year around, but the snow covers are getting thinner every year.
This is one of the most beautiful pictures of it I've ever seen.

There is a mystery hidden in the layout of certain Templar châteaux, churches and peaks in the foothills of the Pyrenees in the south of France. Simon Miles began an investigation into claims of alignments in the area in the late 1990s. In this talk, he presents his results, including the discovery of multiple examples of meridians marked in mountain peaks, a collection of large-scale Pythagorean triangles and an extraordinary landscape zodiac laid out around a village with a fascinating history. Taken together, these fragments are the traces of a vast astronomical instrument embedded in the landscape of the Pyrenees mountains, aligned to major compass angles, the winter solstice sunrise and major stars, in similar manner to related ancient sites all over the world.
Simon Miles is an author, researcher and speaker. He has been investigating the sacred geography of southern France for more than two decades, including five years living in the Languedoc. His first book, The Map and the Manuscript: Journeys in the Mysteries of the Two Rennes, was published by Ignotum Press in 2022. Originally from Australia, he now lives near Manchester. #Colorado couple’s video sparks ‘ #bigfoot ’ speculation -- Sott.net
Shannon Parker and her husband Stetson were riding on a popular train through Colorado when they spotted a #bizarre #figure moving through the #mountains.
Alleged Bigfoot sightings and stories of a large, apelike creature aren't rare, although proof to back up the claims is usually nonexistent or limited at best. However, OutThere Colorado shared the #video captured by the couple, and some people on social media believe it's the real deal.
The couple was riding the Narrow Gauge train from Durango, Colorado, to Silverton, Colorado, when they said they spotted a #biped, #hairy #creature moving through the mountains. A nearby passenger quickly began recording as Shannon Parker snapped some photos with her phone.

Er zieht den Pfad mürrisch in die Länge, wirft mit trockenen Zapfen, lässt wieder und wieder jenen Wind in die aufsteigende Schneise fliegen, der sich als fernes gewaltiges Summen ankündigt, nach und nach die Bäume bis zum letzten Blatt erfasst und schüttelt, Staub und Nadeln in Haare, Gesicht, Augen wirft und sich dann langsam und wispernd in den Steinen verliert. Wolken ballen sich über den Graten, raunen vom Wetterwechsel. Auch heute bleibt die Tür verschlossen, spät im Jahr. Und so packt man Wasserflasche, Kekse und alle anderen Siebensachen und richtet die Schritte wieder talwärts, trotzdem dankbar für die zeitweilige Duldung.

Später. Auch hier schleicht sich irgendwann Nacht ins Tal, und plötzlich wird der Pfad länger und wilder. Die Phantasie malt Geister in die Schatten zwischen Steinen und Büschen. Einzelne Lichter von Hütten, hoch im Wald. Konturen der Berge eher Ahnung als Bild. Unsichtbare Wellen, Wurzeln, über die die Füße stolpern. In vorsichtigen Tropfen beginnt es zu regnen.

Reputed to have been the #first saint #born in #reland, #Ciarán was a native of #CapeClear #Island off the #coast of #Cork.
He became the bishop of Saighir (Seir-Kieran) in the foothills of the #SlieveBloom #mountains in modern-day Co Offaly and remains the patron saint of the Diocese of #Ossory.
Lives of the saint relate #how he #lived in a #forest surrounded by #animals and wearing nothing but skins.
This corresponds to the image of him as a western John the Baptist, and thus like St Ibar, a precursor of the national apostle.
