Nala

Our Nala has also made it now. She is just spending the first days in her new home. Originally Nala comes from Romania. With 5 months she came then to Germany. Three months ago, at the age of 5, she was handed over to us at the shelter because her family could no longer take care of her after the arrival of their second child. At the shelter Nala was always very gentle and calm. Much too calm! A blood test showed that she has hypothyroidism. After appropriate medication and a nice new home, Nala can now really take off again.

The intention of my posts is not to find people that adopt those pets. This German animal shelter accepts only local adoptions and has a very good placement rate. My intention is to raise awareness for all those beautiful pets in the shelters out there waiting for you to be their hero. Go to your nearest animal shelter to find your new pet. Adopt! Don't shop!

Heli

One of the many kittens we currently have at the shelter. They all were trapped at feeding sites or local farms. If possible, older cats are normally brought back to the area where they were trapped after they got neutered, but kittens go into adoption as they adopt pretty good to a new life together with us humans.

Benno

13 years ago, Benno was living on the streets as a stray when a family took him in. Shortly afterwards, the family also adopted Dina as a little kitten from our shelter. After this long time, both had to come back to the shelter due to a strong allergy of a family member. This was of course a shock for both cats and Benno in particular reacted with aggression to the changed environment and his lack of outdoor access. In addition, both suffered from obesity and age-related health problems. It was not easy to find a new home for them. But finally, after almost a year in the shelter, they made it! A couple adopted them despite all their problems. In the meantime, both have lost weight, their health problems are largely under control and Benno has already become much more accessible in his new home.

Max

A short-term resident of the shelter from last year. I almost forgot to post his picture and story. But he deserves to be posted too. Max, three year old Jack Russell Terrier, came to the animal shelter because his owner couldn't take care of him anymore. Fortunately dogs of his age and size normally don't have to stay long in our shelter. After only a short time, he was able to move to his new home.

Goku

The only 5 months old Maltese was the gift for an already older lady from her son. But unfortunately the lady was soon overwhelmed with the young dog. And so he came to us at the animal shelter. A cute little puppy for whom the whole life is one big adventure. Every day there is something new for him to learn. Fortunately, people were quickly interested in him and he is now in his new home.

Arco

A 25 kg puppy? That's Arco. With only 6 months the Labrador Retriever came to the animal shelter because his owner couldn't care for him anymore. A friendly dog that hasn't seen and learned much in his so far short life. One of his hobbies is ripping the blankets apart. The hearts of many volunteer melted away and he quickly found a new home. Dog school waiting for you, Arco!

Milo and his four siblings were born at the shelter. Their mother, a feral cat, was caught at a feeding station because she was pregnant. Three of the siblings have already been placed in a new home and their mother was allowed back into the wild after being neutered.
