Great Uncle Rhys' beer mug

It's old, it's utterly worthless, but it is my favourite beer container. In this instance, it is full of a pint of McEwan's Champion. Not for long, though.

We talked about this item in another thread, recently, @Katherine Bond

Yankee Jack

Statue of John Short, alias Yankee Jack, at Watchet, Somerset.

Mrs A thought we look sufficiently similar that he is my cousin...

Laugharne

A view of the castle, a view out into the bay, pictures of the boathouse from the cliff path and of the interior of the writing shed.
Laugharne (pronounced "Larne") was the birthplace of the Welsh poet, Dylan Thomas. He lived in the boathouse, the small garage of which he turned into his "writing shed". It has been preserved and restored to give the impression that he has just popped out for a while.
The buildings are set into the cliff - visible on one further picture taken from a spot in the town, the boathouse being the white building with four windows at the bottom of the cliff and the writing shed the small brown structure with one window and a whitish roof above and to the left.

That old chestnut...

Apparently, in 2019, this was Wales' "Tree of the Year". It's a sweet chestnut in Pontypool Park, near Nant y Gollen ponds.

I doubt I will be still standing at 400+ plus years old.
