As I got a new fat comrade, an Araneus, outside my kitchen window I wondered how old spiders become? And, I was astonished to find out that tarantulas and trapdoor spiders live up to 25 or more years...
The oldest spider known is an Australian trapdoor spider which died after 43 years!
Tarantulas live up to 30 years, and our European spiders live 1 to 3 years...
