Welcome to #Checkin for Friday, June 3, 2022!

For the very first time since the beginning I've missed my mod start to #Checkin. ENORMOUS APOLOGIES! I've got too many distracting things happening. Some things I've shared about... (like out of control COVID at my workplace 😱) and other things I'm not - other people's woes are boring, right? About covid, it's fascinating living with it at close hand. Half the people sick with the same symptoms are testing negative while the other half are testing positive. Good ol' public health doesn't require those testing negative to stay away for 5 days, so guess what? The negatives show up at work and attempt to work but end up going home during the day. Of course those not sick yet try to pick up the slack. It's not an excuse but yesterday evening I honestly thought I was coming down with it and fell asleep really early. But today I'm relieved to not have succumbed yet. I'm grateful.

On a totally different topic - today's a very special day in the UK! Anyone catch the Trooping of the Colour celebration that kicked off the multi day celebration of Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee? After the pervasive GLOOM of the last few years it's wonderful to see such pervasive elation and joy. If you caught some of it, what do you think? If you didn't are there other unrelated joyful events happening near you?
