The primary object of the capitalist drive is money, yes, but as a power, not as a "means of consumption". It is the starving people who think of money above all as a means to satisfy desires, to obtain goods. For the top of the system, money is always available in vast surplus of any conceivable consumption, while its actual role is to ensure degrees of influence and power.

Summing up, the prevailing picture (at least) in the West is the following: financial oligarchies - inhabited internally by leading groups - pull the strings of politics in view of a form of control and central direction unprecedented in previous history. They have the dominant interest in fomenting a condition of "permanent common danger", which removes all opposition, above all mental.

That is us being removed. Our enemies are not the politicians but their masters. Unfortunately the power they have is near total.
