Today's topic - what's something you did recently that you hadn't done in a long time?
Pour moi, together with a few friends it's a night of music and dance at our local legion!!! Back story - what seems like eons ago, if one wanted live music entertainment in this region, one had to go to night spots in downtown Vancouver. Fast forward to the present - the majority of "night spots' have disappeared and those that exist require a long commute to get to, charge insane prices, and are not friendly places. Fast forward to today - recently, we started noticing local legions (essentially humble meeting halls) promoting live tribute band music. For a lark, a few pals and I decided to check the closest one out. What's not to like about a reasonable ticket price, a very short uber ride, reasonable refreshments and eats and familar sounding live music. Examples of recent tribute performances - Van Morrison, Doors, Tragically Hip, etc. Surprise, surprise what a blast! Well, there were young ones discovering a retro experience but the majority of participants, despite possible age-related challenges, rediscovered the dance floor. What was unique - it was a relaxed community experience. Most stayed till closing! 🤣🤣🤣 Your turn!
