Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters has threatened to take legal action after authorities planned to cancel concerts in Munich and Frankfurt on grounds of his "continued anti-Israel behavior."

There are limits to "freedom" in western democracies. You are free to a certain level, and the red line, is (as always) criticism of the apartheid state of #Israel.

German authorities have called to cancel concerts in #Frankfurt and Munich given by Pink Floyd co-founder #RogerWaters. The reason given by the authorities of the German state of Hessen, where Frankfurt is located, is due to his "continued anti-Israel behavior."

Now, the rocker is threatening to strike back with legal action, saying the claims against him are unfair.

Waters believes “that if left unchallenged, this blatant attempt to silence him could have serious and far-reaching consequences for artists and activists around the world,” the artist’s management in #London said on March 14.

The statement said cancelling Waters' concerts was “unconstitutional” and “unjustified.” A decision to cancel was based “on the false accusation that Roger Waters was anti-Semitic, which he is not.”

According to a statement by the management, the musician has “directed his attorneys to immediately take all necessary steps to overturn this unjustified decision and ensure that his fundamental human right to freedom of expression is protected.”
