Senior Israeli official: "We hope that what we have proposed is enough to bring Hamas into serious negotiations. We hope they understand that we are serious about reaching a deal - and we are. They need to understand that it is possible that if the first stage is implemented, it will be possible to advance to the next stages and reach the end of the war"

Israel has broken every single agreement they have made with Palestinians.. this is yet another word play by IDF to act like they seek peace and not complete destruction of Gaza to a level that it's unhabitable for a long time or possibly forever.

US Universities Should Respect Right to Protest

End Crackdown on Peaceful Pro-Palestinian Protests

https://www.hrw.org/news/2024/04/26/us-universities-should-respect-right-protest

There have been troubling reports of antisemitic incidents in and around Columbia University’s campus. Allegations of antisemitic acts and speech by individuals, as well as acts of Islamophobia and other forms of discrimination, should be investigated and addressed on the merits in a case-by-case basis, through fair and transparent processes.\
\
As protests spread to campuses across the country, university administrations should be careful not to mislabel criticism of Israeli government policies or advocacy for Palestinian rights as inherently antisemitic or to misuse university authority to quash peaceful protest. Instead, universities should safeguard people’s rights to assembly and free expression.

"The Storyteller"

Bisan Owda is 25 years old with raven barrel curls that dance wildly around her face when she walks along the beach. Those same big beautiful curls were once the cause of relentless teasing. But Bisan is a force of nature that doesn't back down and also loves deeply.

She wasn't fluent in English and didn't learn how to speak it until three months ago out of sheer determination to tell the story of her people. Because of this she says "yani" a lot while trying to think of the right English word. It translates to "I mean."

When you go to her social media pages you'll see wizard behind her name, it's because she loves Harry Potter and her favorite character is Hermoine, obviously. She's a women's rights activist, Bisan, not Hermoine but Emma Watson is so it still tracks.

At just 25, she has traveled to multiple countries like France, Lebanon and Belgium with the UN Women's Youth Gender Innovation Agora and as an EU Goodwill Ambassador.

She loves her little brothers and friends and misses playing basketball. She's played in several championships. You'll rarely see Bisan in a dress or skirt even before everything happened. When she's not working she's usually sporting hoodies, baggy t-shirts, jeans or leggings/joggers and some sneakers.

She graduated college in 2021 and has her own show called “Hakawatya,” where she explores historical sights in her city and tells the story of how the ancient people lived who once walked the same floors she stands on.

Before Bisan became known worldwide for her catchphrase, "It's Bisan and I'm still alive," she was known as a storyteller.

A filmmaker.

A sister.

A journalist.

A friend.

An advocate.

An activist.

An outspoken, questions authority, takes no crap bright light destined to change the world.

She has a life as a full well-rounded human being with hopes, dreams, desires and a story to tell. So when you think of Bisan, think of her as a whole person, not just a number.

Bisan has recently been nominated for a Peabody Award with AJ+.

#Bisan Owda is 25, she's a storyteller and she deserves a future that includes continued safety and full freedom.

JUDEAN DESERT

Israel buried Palestinians alive?

Gaza's Civil Defence Department has stated that of the 392 bodies uncovered from mass graves around Nasser Hospital, some showed signs of burial alive.

Biden asked Netanyahu for explanation and was old with the results.

No fault play at all, just standard IDF military procedure.

Most #Jews and #Palestinians want peace. Extremists, narcissists and other ‘allies’ only block the way

...Meanwhile, the discomfort at much that is said and done at the growing US protests is real. At Columbia University in New York, demonstrators were filmed chanting: “We say justice, you say ‘How?’ / Burn Tel Aviv to the ground / Ya Hamas, we love you / We support your rockets too”. Another one runs: “We don’t want no two states, we want all of it.” In that same vein, some students are no longer content simply chanting “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”; they now hold up placards with an Arabic version. The trouble is, those words say: “From the water to the water, Palestine will be Arab” – meaning there will be no Jews from the River Jordan to the Mediterranean Sea, a goal that spells doom for the 7.2 million or so Jews who live there.

...Though, to be clear, the most striking condemnation of this hardening of supposedly pro-Palestinian rhetoric has come not from Jews, but from Palestinians. The protesters have taken “an extremist, maximalist, inflammatory, unreasonable, and totally illogical approach which is harmful to the pro-Palestinian cause,” wrote Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib, a Gaza-born Palestinian analyst who has lost a staggering 31 members of his own family in recent months. Via social media, Alkhatib urges the demonstrators to stop “wasting time with slogan-driven and maximalist activism that does nothing”, and instead to “use your western privilege to actually help the Palestinian people and promote a pragmatic path forward by engaging Israeli and Jewish audiences”.

This Rabbi is charged with anti terrorism charges: This morning, seven rabbis and activists were arrested by Israeli police at the Gaza border as part of a delegation of thirty rabbis and other peace activists with Rabbis for Ceasefire from Israel and the United States who were attemping to bring food supplies into #Gaza through the Erez crossing.

The Passover Haggadah reads, “Let all who are hungry come and eat,” and teaches us that we must work for the freedom of all people. The Israeli government is enacting a famine on the people of Gaza. Forced starvation is just one of the many weapons of war that the Israeli state is using against the 2.3 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

This group of rabbis and activists came to the Erez Border crossing on Passover carrying aid in coordination with UNRWA, an organization critical to providing international aid to avert famine and further catastrophe for the people in Gaza. The Israeli government has banned #UNRWA from operating in northern Gaza. Rabbis for Ceasefire is bringing food aid to demonstrate this dire need, to call for the opening of all border crossings to allow in aid, and to demand an end to the siege on Gaza.

Food aid is essential but not sufficient. To save the lives of Palestinians on the verge of death by the Israeli government's policy of forced starvation and siege, there must also be sufficient infrastructure in place to safely supply and distribute food alongside medical care. Life for Palestinian people is impossible without a permanent #ceasefire and lifting of the siege on Gaza.

As Rabbi Brant Rosen says, "next year, may there be liberation from the river to the sea."
