Scenes from a #bike trip to Maple Island in #Ottawa today with @Kathryn Barr. With the smoke all gone for now we decided to get out and have a picnic lunch, despite the cool day and threat of rain. In fact the rain started as we arrived back at home.

Some things seen: the Monument to the Hungarian uprising of 1956, a sculpture of a whale that turns into a goose depending how you look at it, a place for scones, the pyramids and Canada Goose goslings.
