I didn't get to participate in the #Elokapina (Extinction Rebellion Finland) "Myrskyvaroitus" ("Storm warning") campaign too much this summer. The first part I was away on my cycling trip, the second part I had my kids with me. Attended a few actions, here some photos from the Mannerheimintie road block in central Helsinki. Was there with my three kids and one of my partners kids, so taking photos was difficult :P Good atmosphere, lots of brave people making use of their democratic right to protest and make their voice heard.
As usual, the police abused their powers and cleared the road, instead of protecting the right of the citizens to demonstrate. Somehow it's ok to block a road for a long period of time for a running event, some commercial happening or for example people protesting petrol prices - but if people are concerned for their childrens future, a minor inconvenience to drivers is too much.
Next rebellion coming up 2nd of September, hoping to put my butt on the street then ✊
