Why howdy there #Checkin people! It’s National Hugging Day here in the US, so get out there and get some physical contact (and a possible Omichron infection.)
It’s also National Grandma’s Day. and National Granola Day, which can be celebrated by sending a grandmother a box of granola bars, I guess.
As for the Ongoing Cat Drama:
We opened the front door as it’s the one nearest to my room. We stood on the far side of the room, and I lifted the mattress, boxspring and frame from the side where the cat was hiding against the bedside book case, while Valerie shooed it from where it was. It went straight out the front door. Jumping High Five! So that was one cat down, because the kitten was still in the house. Turns out it was under a chair in Valerie’s room at the time.
The day warmed up so we opened the front door, which has a “pet-proof” screen door, so the kitten could see its three siblings and mother. Mom and kitten sat side by side while the siblings ate. When they were done, the mother ate and they all left for wherever they hide out during the day.
As they were leaving the kitten meowed plaintively as they left. Valerie has named Betty, after animal-lover Betty White. Because she has four white paws, I used to call her Bootsy, after Bootsy Colins.
Later we found that the feral cat had run back inside somehow when it ran past the kitchen while we were cooking. We simultaneously said "What the Hell?" Probably happened while we were busy opening all the inner doors back up. We couldn't figure it out until we saw the package delivered on the doorstep. The FedEx guy must have delivered the cat back as well.
The drama continues...
Oh, and it’s the Second Day of National Cheese Day in Britain. Them British folks really know how to whoop it up, don’t they?
I gotta go. I’ve got a cheese board to finish off...
...yeah, I wish.
