Welcome to #CheckIn for Wednesday November 3rd!

Why howdy there Checkin people. it’s my last day as moderator, so I’ll be saying Håfa adai and Hasta la Vista for a spell. Cass will be taking over.

Today is Sandwich Day! Never underestimate the power of a good sandwich. There is certainly something special about the best of the world’s toppings piled high between two slices of delicious bread. My fave is PBJ made with nutty peanut butter on toasted raisin bread and fruit preserves. What do you like?

On this day in 1956, The film The Wizard of Oz (1939) aired on television for the first time and was seen by an estimated 45 million viewers; its repeated airings on TV helped make the movie an enduring classic. As I mentioned before, I didn’t see it in color the first coupe of years it aired. When I finally did it was a revelation. My favorite scene is when the flying monkeys are sent by the witch.
