I love the #Netherlands , but around new year I really wish I lived somewhere else. I come from a country where fireworks are centralized. Everyone comes together at a few designated places and professionals give amazing fireworks shows. Here, it seems like a war zone for 2 months. I just don't get why people like to literally burn their money or, even worse, turn it into sound bombs.
What's the most disappointing is the lack of empathy. Empathy for small children, for pets, for the elderly, for people that are escaping war zone, for the birds, for the environment... I mean, what goes through the head of people who throw their own fireworks. I just don't get it...
