Last day of Love and Anarchy film festival for me! Was a good bunch of films and documentaries. Many of them sad stories, of places and people with little hope for a future. It's important to see these kind of stories to remind oneself of how a privileged life one is living.

Tatami

Leila is a judoka in the Iran national team, participating in the Judo world championships in Georgia. Everything starts going out well and it looks like there is a strong chance for a gold medal. When there is a possibility she will have to face an athlete from Israel in the final, politics comes into play and things start going wrong.

A touching story of willpower and fighting for your rights as a human being. Includes lots of tatami action.

The Shameless

After killing a police chief customer in a Delhi brothel she works at, Renuka is forced to flee to a smaller town. There in a community of sex workers she meets 17 year old girl Devika, who has yet to have been initiated into the trade. They fall in love, fighting both against Devika's family but also the patriarchy which not only wont accept them, but wants to destroy them.

To a land unknown

Two Palestinian migrants on their way to Germany end up stuck in Athens after their smuggler ripped them off. Needing money for passports, they steal, rob and eventually end up in more and more dangerous schemes.

A story of struggling to keep your humanity when all has been taken away from you.
