I had forgotten how important it is to follow #tags in #diaspora. When I joined diap.org, I got a huge welcome and I immediately found many of the people I used to follow on my other instances. I was, however, curious as to why my stream was not as interesting as I was used to when I had my old account. The it hit me: I hadn't followed the tags I am interested in! I spent some time adding the basic ones, and oh boy does it make a difference! I am now seeing the stuff I am truly interested in.

So this is a reminder to all of you: Remember to follow the tags you are interested in, and remember to properly tag your posts! And I emphasize the "properly" part. I wanted to find posts on Dissociative Identity Disorder (#did) and all I found was posts that tag the auxiliary #did in posts like "#Did you know that [insert boring fact]".
